Purpose
Every guide and checklist has one job: to help a reader recognise a scam or protect their keys and accounts. If a sentence would push someone towards a financial decision, it does not belong here.
Sources
We rely on official and primary sources and link to them at the end of each guide. These include:
- financial regulators and supervisors — the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), the European Banking Authority (EBA) and the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA, including ScamSmart);
- law enforcement and consumer agencies — Report Fraud, Police Scotland, Europol, the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3);
- cybersecurity agencies — the EU Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), the UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and the US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA);
- technical standards — NIST Special Publication 800-63B on authentication, and the BIP-39 specification for recovery phrases.
We do not use material from crypto companies, marketing blogs or anonymous forums as sources.
Writing and review
- Guides are written and reviewed by the Evergreen Study editors. Each guide shows the date of its latest review.
- Before publication, every factual statement is checked against the sources listed under the guide.
- We review every guide at least once a year, and sooner when an official body changes its advice or a reporting service changes.
Facts, examples and statistics
We do not invent statistics, quotes or testimonials. Where we describe a scam, the scenario is an illustration written by us, not a real person's story. Example website addresses end in ".example", a name reserved for documentation, so they cannot lead anywhere real.
What we leave out on purpose
No market data, no commentary on which assets to choose, no instructions for acquiring or moving crypto-assets, no brand names of exchanges, wallets or security products, and no links to them.
Images
Icons and diagrams are drawn by us. Some illustrations on the site are created with the help of AI image tools and checked by a person before publication. They never show real people.
Independence
We accept no payment, gifts or sponsorship from crypto companies or security vendors. Advertising of Evergreen Study itself has no influence on the content.
Corrections
If you think something is wrong or out of date, write to info@evergreenstudy.com with the page address and what you believe should change. We check every report, and when a correction changes the meaning of a guide we update the review date.
